Lo Niagara! down the depth profound Plunges thy broad and mighty gleaming flood,
Fed by vast lakes, in symbol union bound.
On Table Rock, now fallen, in youth I stood
Gazing on all the scene in rapturous mood.
There, at my level, the majestic stream
O'er long curved cliff, with ample plentitude,
Begins its stoop in regular bending gleam;
Then falls till shape is lost in foam and misty steam.

Wentworth Falls

Wentworth Falls is one of the most beautiful towns within Australia's Blue Mountains offering spectacular bush-walks and views. Originally called 'Weatherboard' after the 'Weatherboard Hut' built in 1814, one year later the town was named 'Jamison's Valley' by Governor Macquarie. In July 1867 the historic first railway journey in the Blue Mountains left Penrith station and traveled through to Weatherboard Station where the train terminated. It wasn't until 1879 that the name was changed to Wentworth Falls in honor of William Charles Wentworth, a famous explorer.

Kimball Falls

Kimball Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Wisconsin, both in height and surrounding scenery. Most of Iron County's many waterfalls are located off-the-beaten path, unspoiled by crowds.

Sutherland Falls

At 580 meters high, New Zealand's Sutherland Falls is the most impressive of the numerous falls encountered on the Milford Track. It is actually about a 45 minute hike from the main trail each way, but is worth it. You can walk right up to the base of the falls and feel the power of the wind rushing down, driving the mists outward around the base. It sounds like an airplane, almost, it is so loud.

Victoria Falls

Without doubt, the Victoria Falls constitute one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. Visitors can gaze at the mighty Zambezi as it flows, broad and placid, to the brink of a basalt lip, over a mile wide, before taking a headlong plunge into the frothy chasm of the gorge below. This is the world's largest sheet of falling water, yet although its fame has spread far and wide, the site has been tastefully preserved so that tourists do not spoil the magic of the very place they have come to see.
